# `credit_limit_reached`

**Status 409.** The daily limit for points changed through the API has been reached.

## What it means

Points changes made with keys have reached your account's limit in this `direction`: at most 100,000 points added and 100,000 taken away in any 24 hours, across all your keys. Points given back by cancelling a code are not counted. `limit_points` and `used_points` show where the account stands. Nothing was changed.

## What to do

Make a large change in the Matrix Rewards app in your Shopify admin, which has no daily limit. Or wait until earlier changes are more than 24 hours old and send it with a new `Idempotency-Key`: this answer is kept for the one you used.

## Safe to send again?

No. The same request will get the same answer.

## What else the answer carries

- `direction`: `credit` for points added, `debit` for points taken away.
- `limit_points`: The account's limit in this direction.
- `used_points`: What the account has already moved in this direction in the window.
