Loyalty points for online stores

Points in.
Money off.

Your shoppers earn points on paid orders and spend them as a discount code at checkout — a working programme from the moment you install, with nothing to configure first.

Matrix Rewards is loyalty programme software for online stores, made by Matrix Health Group Ltd, a UK merchant that runs its own stores. Shoppers earn points on paid orders and spend them as a single-use discount code at checkout. A working programme is seeded on install. It is free for 200 point-earning orders a month.

Where it comes from

Built by a merchant, for merchants.

Matrix Health Group runs its own online stores, Senseless and Totally Numb. Matrix Rewards grew out of the points engine built for them.

Shopify is the first platform we connect to. Others are planned.

How it works

Five steps to set it up. Adding points to your product page is one click.

Install seeds a working programme: one point per unit of your store's currency, one reward, and referrals switched on. The rest is placing it where your shoppers will see it.

  1. 1

    Install

From the App Store. A working programme is seeded on install: 1 point per unit of your store's currency, one reward, and referrals on. Nothing to configure before it works.

  2. 2

Let Set up suggest your rates

Set up proposes a rate and rewards for your kind of store, with the reasoning — including advice to lower the rate if your margins are thin.

  3. 3

    Place the two blocks

The Rewards panel and “Points on this product” go in from the theme editor. Set up has a one-click “Add points to your product page”.

  4. 4

    Turn on the account page

Settings › Checkout › Customize adds a Rewards page inside each shopper’s account (new customer accounts).

  5. 5

    Take orders

A paid order earns points within seconds of the store telling us it is paid. A refund takes points back by the same rules, never more than that order earned.

What your shoppers see

Two surfaces, three placements, set from one screen.

Two theme blocks on the storefront and a Rewards page in the shopper’s account. Both are set from one screen in the app, Design, with a live preview beside the controls. Colour and type style the storefront blocks to match your theme; the account page takes its look from your Shopify checkout branding and its words from Design.

The Rewards panel

A storefront theme block. Shows a shopper their balance and the rewards they can take, each one turned into a single-use discount code for checkout.

“Points on this product”

A line on the product page that says what buying this would earn. Set up adds it to your product template in one click.

What you see

Seven screens, written in plain English.

No dashboards to learn. Each screen answers one question a store owner actually asks.

Home

What you owe your shoppers: points they can spend, what those points would cost you, and how many members you have.

Set up

Suggested rates and rewards for your kind of store, with the reasoning behind each one.

Programme

Points per £1, what a point is worth, and your rewards. A live panel shows what an order would earn as you type.

Members

Each shopper and their full history: every earn, spend and refund.

Reports

Outstanding points and their cash value, with a CSV download for your accountant.

Design

Style the storefront blocks and word both surfaces, with a live preview.

How it is built

A ledger, not a counter.

Points are money you owe, so the app is built to keep that number honest. Six things it does, each of which you can check on your own store.

Every balance is recounted from the full history

A balance is never nudged up or down. Each time it is shown, it is added up again from every earn, spend and refund on record.

A refund never takes back more than the order earned

Points come back out by the same rules that gave them, and are capped at what that order earned in the first place.

The meter counts only the orders that earned points

Not orders placed, not refunds, not redemptions. A store that installs and switches nothing on is metered at zero.

Email is the only contact detail we hold

No name, phone or address. A birthday bonus, if you turn it on, asks for day and month only, never the year.

Expiry is off unless you switch it on

And when you do, the shortest period allowed is 12 months. Welcome and birthday bonuses are also off until you choose them.

Nothing to configure before it works

Install seeds a running programme: 1 point per unit of your store's currency, one reward, and referrals on. Change any of it whenever you like.

Pricing

How we count

The meter counts only the orders that earned points — not orders placed, not refunds, not redemptions. A store that installs and switches nothing on is metered at zero.

Held from marketing. This is what the plan does, not a track record: no merchant has yet linked two stores end to end on a live store.

Multi-Store Wallet · the paid add-on

Link your stores.
One balance for your shoppers.

If you run more than one store, the Multi-Store Wallet links them so a shopper earns at any of your stores and spends at any of them, from one balance.

  • One points balance across all of your linked stores.
  • Every point is tagged with the store it was earned at.
  • A settlement report shows which store owes which, so the books between your stores stay straight.

$79 a month after a 14-day free trial. Start on the free plan and add the wallet when a second store needs it.

Linking does not move the money. Shoppers who bought at both stores become one member with one balance; no points are created, removed or changed in value. What you owed across both stores before you linked is what you owe after.

PlannedThe umbrella

Points that travel between stores from different merchants.

The umbrella is an opt-in group of stores from different merchants. A shopper who earned points at one umbrella store would be able to spend them at any other. It is not built yet; the page explains what it will be, who could be in it, and how a merchant would join.

A points programme that works from the moment you install.

Free for 200 orders a month that earn points. Installing takes a couple of minutes, and your shoppers earn on the next paid order after it.
